Jesaja 49, 1-6 (Einheitsübersetzung)

"... Der HERR hat mich schon im Mutterleib berufen; als ich noch im Schoß meiner Mutter war, hat er meinen Namen genannt. 2 Er machte meinen Mund wie ein scharfes Schwert, er verbarg mich im Schatten seiner Hand. Er machte mich zu einem spitzen Pfeil und steckte mich in seinen Köcher. 3 Er sagte zu mir: Du bist mein Knecht, Israel, an dem ich meine Herrlichkeit zeigen will. 4 Ich aber sagte: Vergeblich habe ich mich bemüht, habe meine Kraft für Nichtiges und Windhauch vertan. Aber mein Recht liegt beim HERRN und mein Lohn bei meinem Gott. 5 Jetzt aber hat der HERR gesprochen, der mich schon im Mutterleib zu seinem Knecht geformt hat, damit ich Jakob zu ihm heimführe und Israel bei ihm versammelt werde. So wurde ich in den Augen des HERRN geehrt und mein Gott war meine Stärke. 6 Und er sagte: Es ist zu wenig, dass du mein Knecht bist, nur um die Stämme Jakobs wieder aufzurichten und die Verschonten Israels heimzuführen. Ich mache dich zum Licht der Nationen; damit mein Heil bis an das Ende der Erde reicht."

Isaiah 49, 1-6 (ESV)

".... The Lord called me from the womb, from the body of my mother he named my name. 2 He made my mouth like a sharp sword; in the shadow of his hand he hid me; he made me a polished arrow; in his quiver he hid me away. 3 And he said to me, “You are my servant, Israel, in whom I will be glorified.”[1] 4 But I said, “I have labored in vain; I have spent my strength for nothing and vanity; yet surely my right is with the Lord, and my recompense with my God.” 5 And now the Lord says, he who formed me from the womb to be his servant, to bring Jacob back to him; and that Israel might be gathered to him— for I am honored in the eyes of the Lord, and my God has become my strength— 6 he says: “It is too light a thing that you should be my servant to raise up the tribes of Jacob and to bring back the preserved of Israel; I will make you as a light for the nations, that my salvation may reach to the end of the earth.”"

"... J'ai été appelé par l'Eternel dès le sein maternel, et il a mentionné mon nom dès avant ma naissance. 2 Il a fait de ma bouche une épée acérée[1], il m'a couvert de l'ombre de sa main[2], et il a fait de moi une flèche aiguisée ; il m'a tenu caché, dans son carquois. 3 Il m'a dit : « Israël, tu es mon serviteur, je manifesterai ma splendeur au travers de toi. » 4 Cependant, moi, j'ai dit : « Je me suis fatigué pour rien, c'est inutilement, oui, c'est en pure perte, que j'ai usé mes forces... Mais l'Eternel me fera droit et il tient en réserve ma récompense. » 5 Et maintenant, voici ce que dit l'Eternel, celui qui m'a formé dès le sein de ma mère pour que je sois son serviteur, pour ramener Jacob à lui et pour rassembler Israël auprès de lui. L'Eternel m'a fait cet honneur[3] et mon Dieu est ma force. 6 Et il a dit aussi : « Tu ne seras pas seulement mon serviteur pour rétablir les tribus de Jacob et ramener ceux que j'ai préservés du peuple d'Israël. Car je t'établirai pour être la lumière des nations afin que mon salut parvienne aux extrémités de la terre[4]."
